What on Earth is Going On?

Something is wrong with our understanding of Earthquakes and how they occur. First hand accounts from witnesses and survivors of these cataclysmic events tell of features which appear BEFORE the quake strikes, yet scientists refuse to examine these almost universal features of quakes and dismiss them as 'anomalies'.

We at Planet Flipside don't pretend to have the answers - but we do have the questions - questions which if addressed could shed much light on this distressing phenomena, and yet they are repeatedly ignored. One distinguished scientist Dr Michael A. Persinger, has realised that before a quake strikes, 'mysterious lights'  are frequently reported in the sky some 48-72 hours beforehand. It is these lights which have led many people to believe that earthquakes are somehow an aerial phenomena and not an earthbound one. We would argue here at Flipside however that the lights may be the consequence of some kind of piezoelectricity process taking place (Piezoelectricity is an electric charge which results as a consequence of strain or pressure) - these lights as well as some other phenomena, could give invaluable early warning signs to those who look for them. Included in the strange aerial phenomena prior to earthquakes is the odd colours which clouds take on - prior to many earthquake events people report seeing 'red and blue' clouds (which again could be a result of some kind of piezoelectricity process). Into this mix however, it is unavoidable in this day and age, to preclude the hand of humankind in earthquake events.

Another feature of recent Earthquakes has been the beaching of sea life. Just days prior to the shocking Christchurch New Zealand quake, hundreds of whales beached themselves on the shores near to Christchurch - incredibly the exact same thing has happened in Japan - just three days before this devastating latest quake took place whales and dolphins beached themselves just south of Sendai in the Ibaraki prefecture; Sendai of course has been devastated by the quake and subsequent Tsunami.

An alarming feature of recent Earthquake reports has been the observation that beached whales display signs of 'burning' - although no known report of this has surfaced from Japan (yet) - it has been observed in New Zealand and the Persian Gulf as well as Brazil and California. A distressing example of this burning can be seen below...

Why should marine life display signs of 'burning' before earthquakes?

Is it insignificant that the two most devastating recent quakes were preceeded by some of the most intense 'Solar Flares' discharged toward Earth in more than a decade? Could some form of burning of marine life take place from the combination of the magnification the water provides to the Sun's rays and a damaged atmosphere/stratosphere? Or is there something going on beneath the water during a build up of Tectonic Plate pressures? Could Solar flares have a direct effect on the movement of tectonic plates due to changes in the magnetic poles (the magnetic pole fluctuations are real and increasing alarmingly - so much so that some airports are having to repaint the runway numbers to reflect the new GPS co-ordinates).

And of course there's HAARP. The High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program. Scientists acknowledge that HAARP if misused could have devastating effects on the planet. It is most certainly capable of causing Earthquakes on a grand scale. Coincidentally (or not) it also involves heating air particles. Many people believe that the alarming increase in Earthquake activity is primarily caused by HAARP; and there's no denying that examination of HAARP staions dotted throughout the planet show that some sations were 'fired up' just days before the Christchurch and Japan earthquakes (normally HAARP stations are fairly dormant). How much credence should be given to the Japanese Financial Minister's claim that the USA threatened Japan with the use of HAARP to induce earthquakes if Japan refused to ally it's economy and banking system with that of US banks?

*updated* Unusual cloud formations WERE observed in Japan prior to the Earthquake and this type of formation has in the past been associated with HAARP activity.

*Update* Thanks largely to the internet a Planet Flipside researcher has found at least one scientist with his feet firmly planted in science who believes Solar Flares have a direct link to Earthquakes. - Scientists do not understand yet what causes earthquakes, however there have been connections to heightened solar activity being one of the many possible triggers.

Meteorologist Kevin Martin studied geomagnetic field patterns in space weather since the early 2000s. TWS Editor Warren Miller woke him up to get his word on the quake triggers.

"I may just be a weather guy, but solar weather has had my interest for years when I noticed the connection", Martin said. "Many past quakes have been connected with solar flare events, including other events such as Gamma Ray Bursts, or GRBs. I am pretty certain these have connections to triggering earthquakes, however I do not yet understand it. Japan's activity may not have happened if it was not for the solar flare activity. Others in weather laughed at me for years for what I worked on in quake triggers, however this just may help put that to rest".
