Mystery of Time Traveller Photograph Remains Unsolved - Updated
And so the internet debates have raged for several years now. With widespread publication of the image it was hoped that someone would come forward and identify the man, maybe even the man himself would come forward and explain how or why he had such a modern style in the staid 1940's. But alas no such thing has happened. In the arguments circulating the internet very few things are agreed but what is agreed is that after having been examined by photographic experts, the image has not been 'altered' in any way. Further to this - a second image has been found which was a 'long shot' of the event - and the man's head is quite clearly seen in the same position as he stands in this image. Evidence of the fact that he was there, and is not the creation/inclusion of modern image software. The Virtual Museum of Canada now owns the image, but it too is no further forward in identifying the man many see as a 'Time Traveller'. Is this a photograph of a time traveller?
Second time traveller mystery?
This second 'Time Traveler' mystery, on the face of it, has more going for it than the previous one. First let's deal with why 'Time Traveler' appears to be the only plausible explanantion for the woman who appears to be talking on a mobile phone in a scene from a Charlie Chaplin movie from the 1920's.
'Mobile phone' does appear to be the only answer. Or does it? One of our staff tracked down images which show 1920's hearing aids. Rather large contraptions there is a microphone attachment which, in terms of size and style, is rather like a mobile phone. There is every possibility the lady was holding it up and speaking into it to test the volume on her hearing aid. Of course it's not proof positive but it would go a long way to explaining this admittedly bizarre scene.
Could this be what she is holding?

travel haven't, and won't, exist. There's nothing wrong with the photograph, it's just extremely poorly researched and a
total waste of time - as with all other paranormal and other happenings. You got my point although, somehow! Thanks.
Now there's an open mind if I ever heard one! The image has been viewed by over 3 million people worldwide, the clothing has been researched extensively and whilst most of it was available at the time there's a problem with the font used on the t-shirt. The Sunglasses tend towards 'welders' glasses (which might make sense if he worked in the building of the bridge - but this still leaves issues with why his clothing is not traditional welders clothing for the period). The camera has been researched extensively and of course the image itself by professional analysts. Does that sound like 'extremely poorly researched' to you? I would applaud you had you made some telling reference which would in fact reveal something which undermines the possibility of it being a 'time traveler' - but as your quote above shows - there was never really any intention to view the evidence was there?
