Stick Men Video - Fact or Fake?
Stick man video - Real or a hoax? A video showing what appears to be two 'alien' type creatures walking across the front lawn of a garden in Fresno, USA, whilst being remarkable, has caused some raised eyebrows here at High Strangeness. If it's genuine then it's one of the most important videos of the century. If not, then it joins a long list of elaborate fakes which undermine the serious research and study of subjects as diverse as Cryptozoology and Ufology. Any video purporting to show 'aliens' or some form of cryptozoologically interesting creature is certain to meet with critical analysis - and this one is no different. The video, presented at a MUFON Conference in 2008 by Paranormal Researcher Victor Camacho has been causing quite a stir now that it is widely avaliable on the internet as well as featuring on the SyFy Channel show 'Fact or Faked'? Captured on CCTV, two 'creatures' appear to walk across the lawn of a suburban family home in Fresno, Ca, USA in Nov 2007. If it's a fake, it's an elaborate one as no ready answer appears for how it was done. Suggestions of what it could be, range from 'aliens' to tall wading birds but nothing conclusive it seems can be derived from the video itself. The Infra Red section of the footage should be disregarded as it involves not genuine infra red but an infra red filter which quite frankly is incapable of distinguishing heat sources and merely serves to 'present' an infra red type image.
Over the years we at High Strangeness and Planet Flipside have studied thousands of videos all claiming to have aliens, ufos, crypto creatures and all sorts of other paranormal or supernatural phenomenon within them. Some have been spellbindingly good and appear genuine, some have been spellbindingly good and fake, others of course have been mind numbingly bad and fake. As a general rule however the fakes (especially those which have been staged) tend to have a common factor - the subject of the video tends to coincidentally be in the centre of the frame. Here we have a video where the subject matter is also in the centre of the frame as though they either knew where the camera was for optimal exposure or the camera operator knew where the objects were going to be. It by no means proves it is a hoax - and could prove wonderfully coincidental. Your thoughts on what you think it could be would be deeply appreciated in the comments section below as this one has us baffled.
